Students progress through a structured sequence of coursework that introduces them to the major components of the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, the court system, and corrections. Core areas of study include criminal and constitutional law, criminal investigation techniques, forensic science fundamentals, evidence collection and documentation, juvenile justice, criminology, patrol procedures, emergency response protocols, and report writing. Students also examine contemporary issues such as cybercrime, community policing, use-of-force considerations, and the impact of social, economic, and cultural factors on public safety.

The pathway also integrates opportunities for industry-recognized credentials, CPR/First Aid certification, and work-based learning experiences that may include observation, job shadowing, or partnerships with local law enforcement agencies, courts, or emergency services.

The pathway prepares students for further education in criminal justice, forensic science, homeland security, or legal studies, as well as entry-level roles such as police cadet, corrections assistant, security officer, emergency dispatcher, or public safety support specialist.
